In 2020, revenues from customs, VAT, excises and other tariffs are 4.8 percent higher than expected. These indicators on an annual basis, at a time when due to the pandemic the intensity of the economy and trade has significantly decreased, show that with their high professional and honest work of customs officials proved to be the largest participant in filling the budget of country, writes the Journal.
This was ordered by Prime Minister Zoran Zaev in a video speech in which he wished the customs officers and the Customs Administration April 14, the Day of the Customs Administration, which is marked for the second year in a row.
In his message, Zaev emphasizes that a large part of this income the government has returned in various forms to citizens and the business community, to maintain jobs and living standards. This, he said, speaks volumes about the role of Customs in creating the economic environment in the country.
