The Director of the State Statistical Office, Apostol Simovski, today on the show “Utrinski Brifing” spoke about the census and the population of Northern Macedonia.
As he says on the show, the fact that every third child is being born outside Macedonia is worrying. According to him, about 130 thousand citizens from Macedonia live in Germany alone, informs Zhurnal.
“We do not plan to postpone the registration. Normally everything will depend on the situation with the pandemic, but given the latest information, we do not expect that in September we will have a new wave as we had in March or April. What is certain is that we will respect all safeguards. From this aspect, the citizens should not worry at all. “In September, we expect the weather to be good and we will register in open spaces”, declared Simovski.
He claims that vaccines have been provided to the SSO staff and they will have information on who has been vaccinated.
“The plan is to announce the competition in the second half of this month and to have the full picture at the beginning of August,” he says.
Speaking of registrars’ fees, he says their fees will depend on how much they will register.
“Our plans are for the honorarium to move from 20 thousand to 30 thousand denars, which is solid for less than a month of work”, says Simovski.
According to him, the worrying fact is that many people are fleeing the country.
“What worries me the most is that a large number of citizens are moving. We have statistics of decreasing the number of births here in Macedonia, while abroad it is increasing. This shows that a large number of the population is migrating abroad. Data from the State Statistical Office from Germany say that at the end of 2020 in Germany there are 128 thousand citizens from Macedonia who stay there. This is a terrible figure. “We do not have data on how many citizens have fled there with Bulgarian passports, because they are considered Bulgarian citizens, while this number is around 300,000”, says Simovski.//Zhurnal.mk
