Youth employment remains a challenge for Northern Macedonia, due to the lack of certain skills required in the labor market.
Based on an analysis conducted by the State Audit Office, entitled “Labor Market Audit for the period 2017-2020”, it appears that despite the fact that the unemployment rate shows a decreasing trend, the unemployment rate in Northern Macedonia remains high compared to neighboring countries such as Albania, Serbia and Bulgaria
This analysis of the Audit Office states that the measures taken by the government to reduce the unemployment rate have yielded results, but emphasize that there is still much work to be done in terms of achieving the goal, due to the fact that the unemployment rate among young people is high or expressed in figures about 30 percent.
From this institution concluded that the measures and activities undertaken by the competent institutions for dealing with labor market risks, are not effective enough and that there is a need for more coordinated action between institutions, so that their decisions are then in line. with labor market demands.
